GLOSSARY
A residential delivery fee is charged when the trucker unloads the freight shipment to a residential address.
What is a residential delivery surcharge?
The shipper can request the delivery at any address. However, if they do not have a warehouse and the delivery is somewhere in a residential area, the trucker may charge additional fees. The reason is the lack of unloading space. The unloading of the shipment in a residential area may not be as easy and could cause further delays or other unwanted scenarios. For this, the truckers opt for charging additionally for such requests. This fee is mostly applicable to freight transport services.
