Australia Post pick-up and drop-off points
As well as their traditional Post Office branches, Auspost has an optional service called MyPost where you can create a free account and manage your pick-up and drop-off options easily.
Choose between the following options for your Australia Post parcel collection and deliveries:
- Post Office – you can pick up and drop off parcels at one of the 3,600 Post Offices located nationwide. Auspost offers flexible pick-up options and timeframes through their Parcel Collect service. Create a MyPost account and choose a Post Office as your Parcel Collect location. You will get email and SMS notifications when your parcel is ready for collection. Parcel Collect is only available for shipments sent with Australia Post or StarTrack.
- PO box – a PO Box costs $20 to set up, with annual charges depending on the PO Box size. You can apply online with MyPost or in-store. The PO box can be accessed any time, allowing you to collect letters and parcels at your convenience or store them securely for up to 30 days. You can choose to be notified by email when a delivery arrives to your PO Box. Another benefit of shipping to a PO box is that you protect your privacy by not revealing your home address.
- 24/7 Parcel Locker – you can send prepaid parcels under 16 kg with Auspost whenever suits you with an easy-to-use Parcel Locker. They are found in over 1,000 locations nationwide, including at railway stations, petrol stations, 7-Eleven stores and Woolworths stores. Register with MyPost and add a Parcel Locker as an alternative address. Once you have your account, you will also be able to send parcels with Auspost from any Parcel Locker you wish.

Saturday delivery is only available if you post your item on Friday to an address within the same state with their Express Post Saturday Delivery service. Saturday deliveries are generally made between 9 am and 1 pm.

How do I use a parcel locker for Australia Post deliveries?
To get Australia Post parcel deliveries sent to a Parcel Locker, you will first need to create a free MyPost account or log in to your existing account. Then follow the steps below:
- Go to “Alternative delivery addresses” and add a Parcel Locker.
- Search by street address, suburb or postcode.
- From the Map or List view, select the Parcel Locker you want to use and select “Add”.
You will receive an SMS or email when your parcel arrives at your chosen Parcel Locker.

If you cannot collect your Auspost parcel from the Post Office in person, you can nominate someone to collect it for you.
- Send someone who lives with you and has ID with your same address.
- Complete the “collection authorisation” section on your notification card and have the person take it to the Post Office, along with their ID.
- Complete a letter of authority for the person to print and present at the Post Office, along with their ID.

Your Parcel Collect address must include your name, 10-digit APCN (Australia Post Customer Number) and the address of your chosen Post Office.

- Address line 1: Parcel Collect + 10-digit APCN (e.g. Parcel Collect 1234567890)
- Address line 2: Street address of the Post Office
- Address line 3: Suburb, state and postal code
