PACKING GUIDE
How to pack a surfboard for shipping
Follow our instructions to pack a fish, short or longboard surfboard for shipping internationally to Australia, New Zealand or any other popular surfing destination.
- Get a sturdy cardboard box large enough to fit the entire surfboard. You can either purchase a large enough box or build one out of several boxes (as long as it is sturdy and reliable).
- Detach removable parts such as the leg rope and fins (using a hex wrench or Allen key). Wrap the parts separately in bubble wrap.
- Protect the surfboard by wrapping it in two layers of bubble wrap and then packing it in a padded bag or moving blanket.
- Line the bottom of the shipping box with cushioning materials such as styrofoam, packing peanuts and crumpled newspaper.
- Use cardboard sheets to create an outer protection for your already padded surfboard.
- Carefully place the packed surfboard inside the box and fill empty spaces with more packing materials.
- Use strong adhesive tape to fix the packaging and reinforce all edges and seams.
- You can add warning signs such as “Fragile” or “This side up”.
